The 6\" vise is surprisingly good for $100. It's definitely no Kurt DX6, but it's almost 1/7th the cost. A couple things to note though: The bottom edges and jaws have some very sharp edges. I hit all bottom edges with a quick file to get things a little safer. I'd recommend stoning the bottom too, if you have one, after the filing. The jaws are also very sharp, and got a similar treatment. A very important observation, this vise is not compatible with standard 6\" jaws that would work with Kurt vises. The attachment bolts are M8 instead of 1/2\" and are positioned too low to use other jaws without modifying the other jaws. I needed to make some custom soft jaws for this vice, the Kurt ones just will not fit. Finally, the hex for the handle on the leadscrew is not a standard 3/4\", rather it appears to be larger, more like 20mm. This doesn't matter too much except my other vise handles and speed wrenches won't fit. I ended up removing the leadscrew, champing it in vise jaws I have for machining hex bar stock, and brought the size down to a proper 3/4\" so all of my other wrenches fit. I'm not sure if all of these are like this or just the one I received. Overall, I'm very happy with this vise. Very surprised. I'll update this if I see any issues with longevity.
