Good strong Vice or the money

Nice little vise for a mini mill.

Nice 4" vise for my Smithy 1230. However, it dose have a few thou lift when clamping down parts you need to be aware of. When I have time I'll work on taking most of the lift out of the vise. The 4" fits the best, 5" would had be to large. Other than that I'm happy with the vise.

Its a great vise for the money. Pretty rigid and everything moves freely. It is literally like the big kurt vises we use at work. Packaging was ok, but vise arrived safely to me. One thing the manufacturer needs to look at is to remove the razor blade edges on vise jaws, but not a deal breaker, just takes you by surprise when you grab a hold of the vise. Other then that, its great for the money.

Mine arrived ready to work with just a tiny amount of clean up. Vise was smooth operating, and very clean appearance. The bottom of the one I got is very flat, like wringing flat. Keyways are 14mm. Jaws open to 4-7/8" plus you can move the rear insert to the back of the movable jaw for a total of 8-15/16" clamping. The keys provided look to be MIM parts but they work and you can always make 1/2" or 5/8" keys if you need to. Crazy good value. A++++++++++++. Oh, yeah, the holes on my table are 5-3/8" apart and the vise bolted down perfect with 1/2" bolts.

Very pleased. I cleaned it, installed it on my mill and checked the precision. I may say, almost perfect. Can I find better 6" milling vise for $120 ? NO. The brand names milling vices made in US or Germany has same specs, they are not perfect either, but they cost about $ 600 more + shipping.
