This a good camera but not great. The picture quality is good but the weight of the box pulls a little to much down the shirt causing the image to look more at the ground and less at where you are looking.

After almost being taken out by ignorant motorists 3 times in the last few months, I have started wearing a headlamp and a led safety vest, I was sick of being the inercent bystander so I bought this body camera as a way to the police who these morons are that shouldn't be on our roads any more.

The build quality is well above the average for this type of body camera. However, it does have what I consider to be a flaw common to many of this class of body cameras. It has a lot of buttons and features are activated by long or short press inputs. While that is fine for playback, if you are using this for a real security purpose, you will find that if you are responding to an incident, your fine motor control is diminished by your excitement / Adrenaline elevation. Activating a feature, video or camera or even a light, really should be any length of press to a dedicated purpose button, in my opinion. With that said, this unit tries to be accessible by having a long press of the video button wake the camera from standby and move to record. However, the IR lights, visible lights and camera modes have various presses and small-ish buttons. Something to consider for your application. If nothing else, it will need a lot of practice sessions to build up muscle memory for reliable activation. The buttons are small enough and flush so that manipulating them with gloves on is challenging in my experience. I am still rating this as five stars as it does have good build quality and a good resolution camera and can do a credible documentation job in many situations.

Pros: -Good cam, I found the default settings were good. - easy to set password and add any additional identifiers onto the cam like badge number so on and so forth. The default badge number is 88888 which can be changed - While I got this for free, I think the price is actually very reasonable. - Extremely easy to use. - You can easy add GPS coordinates. - It's password protected by default, so when viewing the video for the first time, you need to enter the password onto the device itself in order to view the videos on your computer. The default password is 00000 - It has an ambient light sensor, meaning it can adjust video according to the setting. - I've dropped this several time partly due to a weak small clip and it's working without issues. Con: -The small clip is not as strong as I would have liked. Several times the camera would fall out of my pocket, backpack, etc, anytime I tilted in any angle. - Loop recording is very glitchy. I would recommend keeping the settings as off (or the default) as loop recording will have this shaky cam even if you're not moving. - Using it in one indoor setting that had bright colors resulted in black, white, and gray video. This may have been associated with the \"loop recording\" mode, but that was the only time where I noticed the video saturation wasn't available. I used it in a low lit location

This VEVOR 1440P HD Police Body Camera, works as well as I hoped it would when I selected it. The videos are sharp and crisp and the camera is as portable as one can be. I do bike rides on trails around my area and this thing really works great for taking videos of where I'm riding. I can attach the camera to the front of my helmet and just let it record while I ride. It records for two hours on the internal memory at full HD, and the video is easily downloaded to my computer for editing it down to an entertaining length. I've always wanted a dashcam in my vehicle as well, and it works perfectly in that use too. Most dashcams you buy use external wires to power it and I don't want wires running all over my dash, so this works better. It's all self contained. I'm sure I'll find other uses for this portable camera, but until I do, I'm having fun with the uses I've already found for it.

First off, the unit came impressively packaged with custom foam insert and premium grade box. Upon first inspection, I could tell right away that this camera was a solid piece of gear. The thick, high-quality plastic housing and no-nonsense design virtually embodies the term “Mil-spec“. Besides the camera, the kit included a charging base, charging cable, two types of retention clips and an instruction booklet. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. They had medium quality illustrations of the unit, which had a very small font to indicate the various controls and indicators. The main text, however, was very clear and easy to read as well as follow. The first section broke down the functionality by each button with their corresponding icon. Then, a breakdown of the indicator lights colors, and their meanings. This was followed by a breakdown of the primary status screen and basic operation with color screen grabs. The whole thing was very comprehensive and informative. The unit charged fast while in the provided charging base. An interesting feature was that the unit needs to be “snapped“ into place by rocking it back into the charging station. Having worked with charging bases for radios and similar equipment in the past, they often just sit in their charging cradle held in place by gravity alone. This means that they can get accidentally bumped out of the charger when no one‘s looking, but not this device. There is a small sticker on the front of the base that shows this rocking motion used to engage and disengage the unit from the charger. Along with the USB-C port in back (which fits the included USB cable) there is also a 5 V DC barrel jack for an AC wall adapter (not included). This brings me to another great feature of this unit, there is an additional charging port behind a cover on the side of the unit itself, which allows for charging on the fly if need be. Screen is good for viewing. Video resolution is clear, colors are simple to set up and use, but I find the more you go over( the instructions the easier things will be. Not very heavy. Seems durable, has a nice thick casing around it.
