At first when I got this, I thought it was heavier than I expected and concerned it might ruin my desk. The clamps are quite heavy and very sturdy and the board is heavier than expected too, but this keyboard desk is very sturdy! So I decided to order a lighter weight keyboard desk which was half as light for comparison. Loved that it was lightweight, however, I felt it was sooooo flimsy. The clamps were much smaller and lighter of course and the desk part was plastic, so much cheaper quality than this one. Everytime I typed it also seemed to rattle or bounce a little, so I decided to return that one and keep this one. Have used it for two days so far and very happy with this desk so far. I just make sure not to clamp on too tight on my desk as I don't want to ruin it. I also think this keyboard desk is a good value for the quality you are getting.
