Very heavy duty, will take the heat better. 3/4\" metal rods. I had others that would eventually melt and warp. They were made with 1/2\" rods.

As I type this I'm ordering a second grate. I am very hard on fireplace grates. We burn Black Locust almost exclusively, with only a little Maple or Ash to get things going. Locust burns very hot, and I was replacing grates annually. Even those at nearly twice the price would melt. In one season. This one melted too, after 3 seasons, but was still serviceable for a fourth. I have, as a result, ordered other things sourced from Vevor. I am very much inclined to continue, and expand, that process. So far, the quality of the products I have received as been excellent. The center back is where I always melt fireplace grates, as one would expect. The difference with these is that the remaining grate is as square and solid as when new. No sagging or deformation. I could just weld some rebar to bridge the gap on the one I'm replacing, but really why. If Vevor offered a cast iron fireback in the dimensions I require I'd order it today. Mine is cracked from heat.

Very happy with this new grate. The middle leg makes it extra stealthy and metal grade is better than I expected. My old grate looked so sad sagging in the middle compared to this new one.

Extremely sturdy and has held up well after several very hot fires. Only suggestion is to add a small piece of heavy duty screen in the middle to hold kindling material so it won't fall between the spaces of the bars while the fire is starting.

very solid
this is a SOLID piece and works grate!! I went ahead and welded some grating on the bottom to hold the firestarter log to keep it from being place right on the floor of the fireplace. Now it works even better.. Holds about two solid logs or several split pieces. holds it paint pretty well...
