The air pump and air stone provide a large amount of oxygen. Expanded clay can fix the plants, drain quickly, and prevent overflow of the water level tube. Floating water level indicator makes easy viewing, reminds adding water in time.

Easy to setup and use, only complaint is the air pump, which is quite noisy. Bought an ultra-quiet one from Amazon for around $50 so still ended up with a quality system.
