Great pot for the price, Very sturdy, and yet light. This is a great size for a large pot. Anything bigger becomes very difficult to handle/stur/clean. No major complaints or concerns. The pot assembly was of average difficulty. I took the valve apart because reviewers claimed there was a large amount of automotive lubricant inside the valve body. I only found a moderate layer over very sticky automotive grease in the valve, which would give an off flavor for the first few uses until it wore off. The valve took some force to disassemble, but no parts were damaged. I removed the grease from all internal surfaces with lots of scrubbing with dish soap followed by scrubbing with 90% isopropyl alcohol. It was tough to remove. I think probably all pots under $400 probably have valves with automotive grease in them. You get what you pay for and I was extremely satisfied with the cost and functionalitie of this pot. The screen works fine and is decent quality. I add a washcloth on top because I am cooking corn meal and don't want the fine powder to fall through the screen and scorch. I have used the pot several times now and the only time it leaked at all when completely full is when I hit the temperature probe several times with a large mixer attached to a drill while at cooking temperature. The pot leaked a tablespoon of liquid then stopped, no maintenance needed. The temperature probe is strong. My only complaint here is that I feal the gage is not quite accurate through the entire temperature range from 40 F to boiling. If you set the guage to be accurate at one end it seems off by around four or five degrees at the other end of the range. I am not certain because I do not have a calibrated guage to check against it and my laser thermometer is not super accurate with liquids and stainless steel. Heureux de mon achat, prix inférieur à ce que j'ai pu voir ailleurs. La double filtration donne de bon résultats. Facile à nettoyer. Je regrette juste le manque de robinet. Il devrait être systématiquement proposé à l'achat.

I started upscaling my homebrew volume and purchased this behemoth. It’s quite large. I use it outside on a propane flame cooker. Much too tall for the stove top as it is a few inches shy of the standard air vent height. The gauge needs to be adjusted which is easily done. Clean up is fairly easy. I’d rather the O rings be a bit heftier as they are soft and squash very easily.

Awesome deal, good product.

My expectations were low considering how much cheaper this 16 gal brew kettle was compared to the competition. I expected thin metal and questionable quality. What I received was a pleasnt surprise, as it exceeded those expectations. The metal is sufficiently thick, and even the thermometer feels heavy duty. It may not have every bell and whistle, but a decent quality 16 gallon brew kettle with a false bottom, thermometer, and ball valve at this price is a very good bargain. My only minor complaint is that the thermometer probe sticks out onto the kettle further than I'd like. It's well above the false bottom and looks prone to catching on a brew bag, but that's easily remedied by adding a 1/2\" pipe nipple. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

Built like a tank

Its built well. It reminds me of a Blichmann (great quality). It has a insert in the bottom to heat quickly and evenly. I have only used it twice, but it performed well. It's impossible to get the last pint out through the valve but it's OK because I just pour the last bit out ( like a bucket). Ascheap, easily done design improvements I would suggest volume markings on the inner wall of the kettle which would help a brewer out a lot. The false bottom is positioned too high. The 201 stainless vessel (valves, etc are 304) concerns me due to less corrosion resistance than 304. However I took a chance with this kettle due to the excellent price point. (70 something dollars). I threw away the cheap teflon tape it came with and used my own. The only other thing I can add is be very careful when assembling. That red o ring goes in the groove of the metal gasket/washer, and that goes against the inside of the kettle when installing the valve. You need to tighten the crap out of it to get it not to leak (just like all the reviews said). I got it to work without any leaks the first time but I tightened it as much as I could (I'm small in stature). I hope this helps. So far I really like this brew kettle and use it exclusively now.
