Remember that fires require adult supervision. I literally facepalms reading reviews by people complaining about white on the product after they used it. You're not supposed to have the fire going through the grate. You're supposed to burn the wood down to hot coals and then place the grate on top. Otherwise you overheat it and get those marks. Just because it's metal, doesn't mean you can't burn it. This product has been grate so far (yes, I did). I opted to use one handle only as I have a dome over top and it essentially levers on the edge of my out ring. Steaks, dogs and veg come out great. Good value for money too. I paid $60 Can for it. I think that's fair for the good quality.
