Works fast tastes ok
My house has well water, and after treating it with a water softener and chlorine to make it safe, it still has a fair amount of tannins giving it a slightly yellow tint (Top cup) and a \"lake\" like taste. Treating Tannins requires very slow Reverse Osmosis filters that are expensive so I thought I'd try distillation first. As you can see the water comes out crystal clear (second cup) leaving behind the very brown tannins (bottom cup). The process takes about 3 hours to process the water. Pros: The water is crystal clear Cons: The water has a metallic taste and smell like it's been in a canteen for a week. The manufacturer says this should go away in time, but it doesn't seem like it. I only use this water for coffee and other flavored drinks and because the canteen taste is more appealing than the swampy lake taste of the original tap water. The other con is it seems to me like the bottom of the distiller burns (the residues) and rusts if you let it run to completion (i.e. it only knows to turn off when it can get significantly hotter than boiling water alone). The easy fix I have found it to just let it run for an hour or so at a time to do a half gallon.

Best tasting water!
I used to use a filtering pitcher, I will never go back. The taste of the Distilled water is amazing! It's has no plastic smell or chlorine smell just pure h2o. I have had many friends come over and say they want a distiller too. I have had an autistic friend say the mouth feel is amazing and now likes to drink water. Idk if that could help anyone but thought it was cool

Mr
Distillery works great for making distilled water for CPAP machine. I know nursery water is better for babies but it works in a pinch. And yes it they distill alcohol very well also.

The pitcher is not that great.
I like the distiller just fine. It’s the pitcher that comes with it that I don’t like so much. With it full of water, you have to handle the pitcher with both hands because it is too heavy, and like in the booklet that comes with the machine says, not to use with handle alone. Also, the stainless lid for the pitcher is not polished on the edges. So be careful to not cut yourself.

Don't have a title. Just a homebody
This is my second Vevor Distiller. My first was Jan/22 and worked perfectly until July/23 or so. I purchased this new one that looks just like the first one and works as well as the first. The Distiller is quiet, efficient , easy to clean, dependable and a pleasure to have. The operating instructions were easy to understand. The first one was just as good as this one. The only suggestion I have is the handle for the collecting jar is not sturdy enough to hold the weight of the jar and pouring with it could be risky, so I never used handle and just picked the jar up and poured with both hands. The first distiller's motor just quit after it's last gallon of water finished. All the other parts still looked almost new, so every part held up well. No worries. Thank you. If I need another after this one, I plan to purchase again from Vevor. Mari Sutton

Vevor distirller beats buying distilled water
Nice machine. More convenient than lugging water home when it can be found. Easiest when it can be parked near a sink.

Yeah...almost an unneccesary tool but...I'm liking it regardless!
So I'm one of those fat old men that has come to rely on a CPAP to enjoy decent sleep at night. Yes, I could go on buying gallon jugs of distilled water from my local store but, I'm developing a keener disgust for all the useless plastic we mindlessly just toss out of sight every single day so...I needed for my own heart to find a "home distiller". What do you know? They are actually a thing! I've been using this one for a bit over a month or so and dude...not only does it look pretty nice on my counter but, it really really works! Now, I'll be among the first to say the enclosed pitcher they send is HEAVY...like, really why does it have to be so heavy but...I'm adjusting. The process is pretty simple, pour tap water (I opt to usually use RO from our filter system) in the base of the machine, place the top on, line up the drip spout over the (heavy) pitcher and hit the "go" button. That's it. It will take a few hours to go through it's boiling/distilling process but what it gives me is crystal clear distilled water. We use it not only for my breathing machine, but also to water some of the different houseplants that really do not do well with tap water. Over-all it's been a great addition! Now...the price, yeah...it's going to take YEARS to even out against the price of store bought but guess what...I don't care! I was after not only the handy fact it's right there when I need it...and mostly against me not having to contribute to even more gallon plastic jugs out there that will never, ever rot away. The side plus...I hear from a guy that I can even do a bit of home hootch work with it. :) stay tuned.
