I use my water distiller daily. Easy to use by just pouring the water in, setting the outer container in the right place and pushing the button to distill a gallon of water daily. I was buying distilled water at the store for .89 cents each and 7 gallons a weeks. The plastic jugs were a pain to crush and get rid of. I am now saving over $300.00 a year and don't have as much garbage to fill the dumps with all that plastic. No more lugging gallons of water out to the car and then into the house each week.

This item works as advertised. It distills water, and that is it's intended purpose. There will most likely be residue remaining in the container when the process is complete. Unless you have really clean water, but then why would you need to distill it? The thing that took me a moment is that the residue can stink. If you stop the process just before the last of the water distills, you can avoid the stink and messy clean up. It still works for it's intended purpose, and that's what it needs to do.

Works

I use this to distill water for a frog tank after losing one of them to a kidney infection that I believe stemmed from using normal filtered water.This works well, although it's pretty large for something you'd keep on the counter all the time. I like that everything water comes into contact with is stainless steel.Do be warned that it's not whisper quiet or anything, we leave it in the kitchen and try to use it during the day. Auto-shutoff seems to work well to stop it before it runs completely dry and crusts the distillate onto the water pan, which is another plus.

Great machine. Looks professional, works exactly as described, went together quickly following the directions, and is easy to clean. My wife has taken over the operation of it to keep our automatic expresso machine supplied with DI water. We are no longer buying a gallon and a half a week from the store 25 miles away. Item arrived missing the plastic handle and bolts/nuts to attach it. After emailing support about it, they want pictures of the unit in the box so the "technician can verify". I humbly submit this question of logic: Why is this even a thing? What advantage of the company would I be taking by trying to swindle a second plastic handle? I don't have the original packaging, and if it were atill in the original packaging, there would be no way for me to tell anything was missing because og how it was packed, so providing a picture of this would not provide the technician ANYTHING to verify. Just send the missing part.

I've owned one before, this one is even better than it. Good product for clean water.

When distilled water started to become hard to find, I opted to invest in this product to make my own for my Opal ice maker. It is easy to use, but given our hard water around here, it is a little hard to keep clean. The bottom gets pretty caked over with calcium (or whatever that is), and it's hard to remove, even with the provided cleaner. However, it doesn't seem to impact the performance at all, and we've made probably 5 batches a week for a few months now. If you need a continuous supply of distilled water for whatever reason, this definitely does the job.
