Seemed like a gimmick, but it's incredibly powerful. Good first time still!
Works to both ferment and then later distill. This is a great starter kit. After your first batch you'll do good to purchase tools to measure sugar and alcohol content.I never experienced any problems with leaky seals once I stopped being lazy and used a wrench. I've made about 6 batches so far, friends are impressed and love it. Pump is a little strong but if you're doing this outside then it's not a big deal. After 1 or two batches I haven't used the thumper again, not really a good size for a thumper. Thermometer might be a bit off, but it's consistent which is the most important thing. What I didn't realize before I bought this was how long it takes! If you're just using bread yeast it might take 3 weeks to ferment and then 6 hours to distill, but getting 8 quarts out each run (4 of which are good enough quality to drink, the other 4 you put in the next batch) makes it worth it. I'll get the first quart at 140+ proof and stop around the 8th quart which is usually down to 40 proof.Very happy with my purchase, haven't bought liquor from the store since. The sky's the limit with this and if you're intrigued by the idea (or want to save money) this could do it for you. Highly recommend for a tinker or foodie. I've been having fun with infusions such as peach, charred oak, and ginger and fermented products from my house such as tomatoes, prickly pear, apples, potatoes.

Great product
Easy to use and very efficient. Only a few slight modifications with washers to seal it up.

Works fine for me
To start off the machine does work. There are a few things you can do yourself differently to make the still be more effective. But if you set it up with patients and follow instructions it will work right out the box. My first time was a successful. I made ok stuff.

Mr
Just used it for the first time. Compared to my old column still it was a bit slower but it consumed less power and water. Yield was of good quality and overall a higher percentage ABV. Modifications were a drain valve on the boiler, a mains water conection on the condenser and a foam insulating container for the thumper . Thank You.

I haven’t tried it yet
I haven’t tried it yet but I always wished I had known a moonshiner and learned how to distill shine myself. I guess I’m thrilled to have a small still and that’s probably what prompted me to give it a 5 ⭐️ rating.

Produces alcohol
Easy assemblyPerforms greatDetailed instructions with recipesFLAWSSmall size required multiple distillation cycles for quality shineNot good for fruit mash (burns mash)low quality thermometer that shows increments of 50°F and hard to read due to condensation and small sizeBut for $100 I'm impressed

Easy to use
Love this still, it works great, Easy to setup and to clean afterwards. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to learn how to distill.

Beginner/ intermediate pot still
It will distill mash, wort, water, hydrosol, white fuel..not saying u should or shouldn't..it will take some twerking and modifications to work like intended. You should have a good gen grasp on how to distill..if you don't..you will complain about this..replace the hose for the worm cooler. You will that me..the water pump included is shut..buy a real transfer pump. The slobberbox aka thump keg is a lil too small but will work. Set up the worm cooler where it's not on top of the mash pot..the heat from the pot will make it too hot to condense. You will need a ice cooler or 15 gal plastic trash can full of ice water,to run thru the pump and cool the vaper off. Only add alcohol to the thumper if you don't wanna weaken your hooch..connect the bottom valve on worm cooler to the pump..the top valve is the return. The truck is to open the bottom valve just enough to keep coils under water but have the top valve open enough to allow it to drain fast enough as to not over flow onto your floor.. u can't walk away and leave it.. gotta babysit it. The mash pot works on most stoves if the vent hood isn't in the way. U can use on the turkey fryer if u keep it turned low enough. If you buy a cadco crs3t counter cooktop..it will heat that 13 gal pot well..make sure you find a stainless collender or bowl that will fit inside ..I added bolts to my collender to have about 1/4 in clearance from the bottom.. this keeps you from scorching your mash,wort,brewbag,grain...this will NOT work on induction cook stove cuz stainless isn't magnetic..if a magnet will stick..it will work.tighten all fightings well and be sure to run water and white vinegar thu it before you really use it. Lastly.. the hose clamps in this are junk and u will need to verify the temp gauges are accurate.. if there is a nut on the bottom of your temp gauge, than u can calibrate it by loosening it a bit and turn gauge but hang on to the probe.. tighten when u get it where u want. Sorry this is long..follow PHILBILLY moonsh
